My Process

Looking for clarity around your financial options? Here's how we achieve it:

  • 1. Schedule a Call

We'll chat to see if we're a good fit and if it makes sense to continue our conversation and meet again.

  • 3. Financial Security Plan

You'll receive a plan designed specifically for you and your situation. We'll begin to align your actions and values with finance.

  • 2. Discovery Call

We'll gain clarity on what's important to you and why. We then create a plan to set things in motion.

  • 4. Regular Review

A financial security plan is organic and should adapt to changes in your life. Regular reviews make sure we stay ahead of changes in the industry and keeping up with your busy lifestyle.

Medical Professionals

I’ve been fortunate to work on many cases involving individuals with a corporate structure – medical professional corporations in particular. I think of a financial security plan as a ship comprised of many moving components. The efficient use of a corporation can act like a sail that speeds the ship toward its destination, while a poorly-used one can act like an anchor.

The changing landscape of tax rules around corporations has received a lot of attention over the last few years. It’s critical to get advice from someone who’s up to date on tax-efficient options to grow money in a corporation as well as efficient ways of getting it out in order to have more in retirement.

Testimonials

"I'm currently located in Vancouver, BC, and Galen is Ontario based. This was a non-issue and working together online turned out to be greatly to our advantage... He has taken the time to educate me and spend the time needed to ensure I am making good decisions. This was AFTER he first invested in Me and what I am about."

Jennifer Pereira

“Galen has spent several hours teaching me about the financial world... He is great at explaining things and is great at creating visuals for visual learners. He has helped me think about my future financial goals and make realistic action plans to achieve them.”

Erfan Vafaie

"Galen provides an engaging, interactive presentation that allows his audience to put financial planning into perspective by answering questions in a unique visual manner. You can hear the penny drop all through the room. No matter what an audience member's comprehension of financial planning is, Galen responds to questions in a user-friendly, non-patronizing manner that is appreciated by all who attend his sessions. The number one questions from participants is "when is he coming back?".

Hi, I’m Galen.

A financial plan should be custom made to suit your values and goals. I believe in listening attentively to my clients to make sure the plan they have in place provides them with clarity and confidence. I do this by meeting with professionals across Ontario and British Columbia and hearing their story.

As a kid I wasn’t completely sure what I wanted to be when I grew up, but I did know I wanted to help people. After college, I decided to do just that, and a few weeks after I turned 22, I moved to Venezuela for one year to work for a grassroots community-development program.

One year turned into 10 and I was lucky enough to meet my amazing wife. Our son was born a few years later.

I also went through a career change from the non-profit sector to education, teaching grade five at a private international school in Caracas for several years. In 2010, we decided it was time to leave Venezuela and found our way to Belleville, Ontario, where our daughter was born. When we moved, I didn’t know another career change was on the horizon. In 2012, I met a director at Freedom 55 Financial who encouraged me to consider the role of financial security advisor.

With my background in education and passion for helping others, I couldn’t have found a better fit. Since becoming a financial planner, I’ve had the opportunity to work on many cases and gain particular expertise in helping incorporated medical professionals use their corporate structures to reach their financial goals.
